The peso and stock market both declined on Wednesday, April 19.
The Philippine peso–US dollar exchange rate at the Philippine Dealing and Exchange Corporation (PDEX) closed at P49.72, weaker than Tuesday’s (April 18) rate at P49.64.
At the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reference exchange rate bulletin, the exchange rate settled on P 49.60 to the greenback.
Likewise, the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) dropped by 66.00 points (0.87%) to close at 7,522.98.
The all-shares index also lost 34.77 points (0.77%) at 4,502.07.
